The Colorado Mountain Club offers a wide range of educational opportunities: program nights, seminars, educational hikes, and a great variety of schools using fellow CMC members--volunteer instructors--to teach members everything from basic hiking skills to high-altitude expeditions and technical rock and ice climbing. Virtually every mountain-oriented skill set is represented among the CMC 's educational opportunities. These courses appeal to people new to the area and the outdoors, as well as to those looking for new ways to enjoy the mountains and expand their personal horizons.

CMC In State Outing 2010

CMC's In-State Outing will be held on the outskirts of Silverton, CO next summer. We will be at the Mountain Studies Institute field station the last week in July and the first week in August. We will have the opportunity to learn from some of their visiting scientists who are doing research in the alpine environment. http://www.mountainstudies.org/AboutMSI/default.htm

This is a passenger car drive in site, with plenty of tent sites, 4 RV hook-up sites, and 6 rustic cabins. There is some indoor space, but not a lodge like Marble. We are planning to set up the outdoor dining tent with an outdoor dishwashing station.
